Types of Marine Surveyors

In Newcastle, surveyors fall into several categories. Hull and machinery surveyors assess vessel conditions, cargo surveyors oversee the safe handling of goods, and classification surveyors verify compliance with industry standards. Independent tug boats surveyors provide unbiased reports to vessel owners and insurers.

Accreditation and Experience

In Australia, surveyors must be accredited under AMSA's National Law and often belong to the Australasian Institute of Marine Surveyors (AIMS). In Newcastle, having local knowledge of the Port's regulations and infrastructure is crucial for identifying risks and offering practical advice.
